The Luts & the Gondola Parade
Balk is built around the Luts, a small river that is part of the Elfstedentocht route. During the annual Gondola Parade in August, illuminated gondolas sail right through the village and past the terraces. We deploy extra roadside assistance vehicles around the bridges, boat ramps, and parking locations to ensure visitors can arrive and depart safely.
